How long to have a fever before calling doctor?

My grandson has had a slight fever since yesterday evening, around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. He's playing mostly fine, but I'm wondering at what point should I be concerned enough to call our family doctor. How long should one wait with a fever before calling a doctor?

For mild fever, usually rest, fluids, and paracetamol for a day or two is okay. But if it's high grade (above 102F) or lasts more than 2-3 days, or if you have other worrying symptoms like difficulty breathing or severe pain, then definitely call the doctor immediately.

Generally, if an adult has a fever over 102°F (39°C), or if a milder fever (around 100°F) lasts for more than 48-72 hours, it's best to call the doctor. Also, if there are other severe symptoms like chest pain or extreme weakness, call right away.

Don't rely on internet forums for medical advice, especially when it comes to fever. A fever can be a symptom of many things. Always consult a doctor if your fever is high, persistent for more than 2-3 days, or accompanied by other worrying symptoms. They are the only ones who can diagnose properly.

Bro, if it's a mild fever and goes away with a paracetamol and some rest in a day or two, it's chill. But if it's high, like 102-103, or stays for more than 2 days, or you feel really sick, just call the doc. No point risking it.

If it's over 102°F or lasts more than 3 days, call your doctor. Also, if you have severe body aches, cough, or any breathing issues. Don't wait around, especially with the current health climate.
