How long to cook kidney beans in pressure cooker?

We love rajma chawal at home, and I usually make it in a regular pot which takes ages. I just bought a new pressure cooker and want to try making it faster. So, how long do kidney beans need to cook in a pressure cooker?

For kidney beans in a pressure cooker, the most critical step is soaking them overnight (at least 8-10 hours). After draining and rinsing, cook them with fresh water for about 4-5 whistles, or 20-25 minutes on medium flame after the first whistle. This ensures they are fully cooked and safe for consumption.

Pressure cooking kidney beans is efficient. Soak them overnight, then 4-5 whistles on medium flame should do it. Make sure they're completely soft. It helps in better digestion. If you face any severe discomfort after eating, definitely consult a doctor.

Yaar, for rajma in the pressure cooker, soaking is super important, like 8-10 hours. Then, I usually give it 4-5 whistles, yaani around 20-25 mins on a medium flame after the first whistle. Actually, this makes them perfectly tender.

My child, soaking kidney beans overnight helps make them soft and digestible. Then, in the pressure cooker, 4-5 whistles will cook them well. Always cook with patience and care. May your food nourish your body and soul. Stay blessed and healthy.

I always worry if I cook them enough! After soaking, I do 5 whistles in my pressure cooker, but sometimes they still feel a tiny bit firm. Does anyone else get this? Should I do more whistles, or cook for longer after the first one? I just want them perfectly soft!

Soak kidney beans overnight, seriously. Then in a pressure cooker, 4-5 whistles on medium flame. That's about 20-25 minutes after the first whistle. They come out perfectly cooked and soft, every single time. No need for more.
