How long to boil red kidney beans?

I'm making rajma chawal for the first time for my wife, and I want to get it right. After soaking the red kidney beans overnight, how long do I need to boil them until they are soft?

Hey! Don't stress too much about it! Just make sure you soak them overnight, that's the main hack. After that, a good 45-60 minutes on the stove, or about 20-25 mins in a pressure cooker after the first whistle. They should be super soft, yaar!

Haan, rajma ko toh pehle raat bhar bhigona zaroori hai, na? Uske baad pressure cooker mein 4-5 seeti (whistle) laga do. Ya phir slow flame pe 20-25 minute. Tabhi woh acche se galte hain aur test bhi badhiya aata hai. Mazaa aa jaata hai!

Yaar, for rajma, soaking is like, actually, the most important step. Overnight, 8-10 hours. Then in the pressure cooker, I usually do it for 4-5 whistles, yaani around 20-25 mins on medium flame after the first whistle. They turn out super soft then.

Always soak your red kidney beans for at least 8 hours or overnight. This reduces cooking time significantly and helps with digestion. After soaking, pressure cook for about 20-25 minutes with sufficient water, or boil in a regular pot for 1 to 1.5 hours until they are tender and easily mashable.

Beta, red kidney beans ko toh sabse pehle raat bhar paani mein bhigo do, tabhi woh acche se phoolenge. Phir usko cooker mein dalke 4-5 seeti lagao. Kam se kam 20-25 minute lagte hain. Aram se pak jaate hain, chinta mat karo. Hum toh aise hi banate aaye hain saalon se.

Boiling red kidney beans requires proper cooking to avoid issues. Soak them overnight, then pressure cook them for at least 25-30 minutes after they come to a boil. Undercooked beans can cause digestive upset, and I learned the hard way about ignoring small signs. Always cook thoroughly!

It's totally okay to feel a bit unsure about cooking times, especially for things like beans! For red kidney beans, always, always soak them overnight. Then, for boiling, I usually do it in a pressure cooker for about 20-25 minutes after the first whistle. This ensures they're soft and safe to eat. Don't worry, you'll get it right!
