How long should a one month old sleep?

My one-month-old baby sleeps a lot, which is a relief sometimes, but I want to make sure it's the right amount. What's the total sleep duration recommended for a 1-month-old baby in a 24-hour cycle?

One month old? They should sleep whenever they can, and ideally, I should too! 😂 But seriously, it's usually 14-17 hours in 24 hours, but not in one go. Expect short naps and frequent night wake-ups. My coffee addiction started then!

Based on my experience with my nephew, a one-month-old would sleep a lot, but it was always in short bursts. Like 2-4 hours, then wake up for a feed. Never a long stretch at night. It slowly improved after a few months.

I totally get it, the one-month mark can be confusing with sleep! At this age, they generally sleep for about 14-17 hours total in a day, but it's broken into many naps and short stretches at night because of feeding needs. Hang in there!

A one-month-old baby usually sleeps a lot, around 14-17 hours a day, but in pieces. You can try a gentle massage before sleep or a warm bath. But if your baby is extremely lethargic or not feeding well, definitely speak to your doctor right away.

For a one-month-old, sufficient sleep is vital for growth and development, similar to how proper diet helps manage my diabetes. They typically need 14-17 hours in total over 24 hours, broken into short cycles. It's crucial they wake to feed regularly to maintain their blood sugar levels.

Oh, the one-month phase is tough! My little one slept a lot, but never long enough for me to get proper rest. We tried swaddling tightly and keeping the room dark and quiet. It helped them settle, but waking up for feeds is just part of it at that age.
