How long should a newborn sleep at night?
My newborn baby sleeps almost constantly, but I'm unsure about how much of that should be at night versus during the day. What's the normal duration a newborn should be sleeping at night?

Haan na, newborns sleep in short bursts, usually 2-4 hours at a stretch. It's totally normal for them to wake up for feeds. Just follow their cues, ho na?
Sleep patterns for newborns are mostly related to feeding. They need frequent feeds, so longer stretches are rare initially. Ensure the mother's diet is good so the baby gets enough nourishment.
Mere saath bhi same hua tha, my son would sleep hardly 2-3 hours straight. Doc said it's fine as long as they are feeding well and gaining weight. Just hang in there, it gets better!
I totally get it, the sleep deprivation is real! My baby would also wake up frequently. We tried a warm bath before sleep and keeping the room dim and quiet. It helped a bit, but mostly it's just a phase, you'll get through it.
Haan ji, newborns sleep a lot but not continuously at night. They need to be fed often, na? So expect wake-ups every few hours. It’s normal, don't worry too much.

Newborns sleep whenever they want, it's not like adults. Usually 2-4 hours max at night. If baby seems distressed or not feeding, then definitely see a doctor, otherwise it's just nature's way.
