How long should a 3 week old sleep?

My three-week-old baby is sleeping quite a bit but seems to be awake more during the day than at night. What's the ideal sleep duration for a 3-week-old baby?

A 3-week-old is still very new to the world! They sleep a lot, roughly 14-17 hours in a 24-hour cycle. But these are short naps, usually 2-3 hours long, because they need to wake up frequently for feeds. Don't worry about trying to set a strict schedule yet, just follow your baby's lead and feed them when they ask.

For a 3-week-old, they are supposed to sleep a lot, but in short bursts, usually 2-3 hours between feeds. Don't fall for any internet 'tricks' to make them sleep longer at this age. Always verify with your pediatrician. They know best about newborns.

Yes, a 3-week-old needs to sleep a lot, around 14-17 hours in total, but in short cycles for feeding.

A 3-week-old? They mostly sleep, eat, and, well, you know! Expect 14-17 hours in a day, but broken up into short 2-3 hour naps and bursts. If you're hoping for a full night's sleep, bless your heart, but not yet! Just enjoy the quiet moments when they do sleep.

Oh, the early weeks are so demanding, I remember! A 3-week-old sleeps a lot but in small cycles, waking every 2-3 hours for feeds. We used to give a gentle oil massage before bath and then swaddle tightly; sometimes it helped them settle a bit. But frequent feeding is key at this stage.

Teen hafte ka bachcha bahut sota hai, total 14-17 ghante din mein. Par yeh lambi neend nahi hoti, har 2-3 ghante mein uthega doodh peene ke liye. Yeh normal hai, ghabrao mat.
