How long pain after tooth extraction?

Got my wisdom tooth pulled out yesterday and the pain is still quite a lot, especially when I try to eat. How long does this kind of pain usually last after a tooth extraction? Is it normal for it to hurt this much?

After a tooth extraction, expect pain and discomfort for about 3-5 days, with the worst in the first 48 hours. Make sure you clear your schedule for these initial days. Take your prescribed pain meds religiously, and strictly follow post-op care. You don't want to stretch the recovery unnecessarily when you have work.

For tooth extraction pain, it typically lasts for a few days, maybe 3-7. But for those of us with diabetes, healing can sometimes be a bit slower. It's crucial to manage your blood sugar levels well before and after the procedure. Also, stick to soft, non-sugary foods during recovery to prevent further irritation or infection.

Beta, after a tooth is pulled, some pain is always there, it's natural. For most people, it's 3-4 days of proper discomfort, then it slowly gets better. I've had a few teeth out in my time. Just take the medicines the doctor gives, eat soft food, and rest. Don't worry too much, it passes.

Hello, I might need an extraction soon and this question really worries me. So, the pain should slowly reduce after a few days? And what if it gets worse? Should I call the dentist immediately?

Tooth extraction pain usually lasts for about a week. The first 2-3 days are the most painful, but it should gradually reduce. Keep ice packs handy for swelling, and strictly follow the soft diet. Make sure you don't miss your pain meds, that's key for managing it. It's a common procedure, so most people recover fine.
