How long is the operation to remove a kidney?

My mother needs to have one of her kidneys removed due to a cyst. She's quite anxious about the surgery. Could someone tell me how long the operation to remove a kidney usually takes?

For removing a kidney, it really depends on if it's open surgery or laparoscopic. It can be anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. After such a major operation, proper rest and following the doctor's instructions strictly is key. Natural remedies are for small issues, this is serious.

A nephrectomy, the removal of a kidney, can vary. A laparoscopic procedure might be 2-3 hours, while an open surgery could be longer, around 3-4 hours or more. It's a significant surgery, so pre and post-operative care, including gentle breathing exercises, are crucial for recovery.

Operation to remove a kidney? Oh god, even thinking about it makes me tired! 😴 I heard it can be a few hours, like 2-4, depending on the method. I just hope they give enough anesthesia so the person gets a good, long, uninterrupted sleep, haha! But seriously, it's a major thing, recovery also takes time.

Removing a kidney is a big procedure. It can take a few hours, typically 2 to 4 hours, sometimes more. For patients, especially if diabetic like me, managing blood sugar levels before and after is critically important for healing and preventing complications. Doctor's post-op diet instructions are a must.

My friend had his kidney removed due to an issue. His open surgery took about 3.5 hours. Laparoscopic would be shorter but his case needed open. It's a proper big surgery man, recovery is also a few weeks. Best to ask the surgeon directly before.

My cousin had a kidney removed many years ago. It took about 3 hours for him, if I remember correctly. My family always says to listen to the doctors fully for such big operations. They will tell you exactly what to expect and how long it will take for your specific case. Don't worry too much, they know best.
