How long is covid contagious after fever breaks?

My brother just recovered from COVID, fever broke yesterday. He wants to go back to office but I'm worried he might still be contagious, especially for our parents. How many days after fever breaks is he actually safe to be around everyone?

That's a good question! From what I've seen and heard from friends who had it, even if the fever is gone, you can still be contagious for a few days. Most doctors recommend waiting at least 5 days from symptom onset AND being fever-free for 24 hours without meds, then wearing a mask for a few more days. Always best to check with your doctor for current guidelines though!

I just recovered from Covid a few weeks ago, mere saath bhi same hua tha. Even after my fever broke, my doctor told me to isolate for at least 5-7 days more, especially if I still had other symptoms. And even then, wear a mask for a few days extra to protect others. It's better to be safe than sorry, you really don't want to spread it.

Please, this is not something to guess about. I had complications after my Covid, and it's serious. Even if your fever breaks, you can still transmit the virus. The general guidance is typically around 5-10 days from symptom onset, depending on severity and local health authority rules. You MUST consult a doctor for personalized advice based on your condition and current health protocols. Don't take chances.

My family usually says to be extra cautious even after fever subsides. For Covid, the doctors usually advise isolating for at least 5 days from when symptoms started, and make sure you've been fever-free for a full 24 hours without medication. After that, wear a good mask for another 5 days. But always, always confirm with your doctor for specific advice.
