How long is a tb test valid for?

My company is asking for a recent TB test. I got one done just a few months ago for travel. Is there a standard time limit for how long a TB test is considered valid generally?

Haan, this is a common question, na? Generally, a TB test, whether it's a skin test or a blood test, is considered valid for about a year if you're not showing any symptoms and haven't had any known exposure. But for certain jobs or visa applications, they sometimes ask for it to be more recent, like within 6 months. So always double-check the specific requirement.

My son needed a TB test for his school, and they said it's usually valid for a year. But the doctor also told us that if he developed a persistent cough or fever, we shouldn't wait for the year to end and get him checked again immediately. It's better to be safe, especially when it concerns children's health. Take care, beta.

I totally get why you're asking this, it can be confusing with all the different health guidelines. Typically, a TB test is considered valid for about a year. However, if you develop any new symptoms or have a recent exposure, it's always recommended to get retested, regardless of how recent your last test was. It's about being proactive for your health.

From my experience with various medical checks, a negative TB test result (like a Quantiferon or a PPD skin test) is generally considered valid for 12 months for most routine purposes. However, if you're applying for immigration, certain professional licenses, or if you've had a recent high-risk exposure, they will demand a new test. Always confirm the exact validity period required by the requesting authority.

For something as serious as TB, don't trust random information. While a TB test is generally said to be valid for a year, this can change based on your individual risk factors, symptoms, or what a specific institution requires. Always verify with a qualified medical professional, your doctor is the best person to advise on your specific situation. Don't rely on internet rumors.

Yo! My college entrance needed a TB test, they said it's good for a year. But my brother for his abroad visa had to get a new one even though his was 8 months old. So basically, it's usually a year for normal stuff, but for official purposes, they might ask for a super recent one. Just check with whoever is asking for the test.
