How long for liver enzymes to go down?

My recent health check-up showed my liver enzymes are a bit high. The doctor suggested some lifestyle changes. I'm curious, after making these changes, how long generally does it take for liver enzymes to go down to a healthy level?

It's completely normal to feel anxious when you hear about elevated liver enzymes. I know I would! The time it takes for them to come down really varies a lot depending on what's causing the elevation. It could be a few weeks to several months. Please keep following up with your doctor and discussing your concerns.

Hello! The time it takes for liver enzymes to go down varies greatly depending on the cause. If it's something acute like a temporary infection or medication, it can be a few weeks. For chronic conditions or lifestyle-related causes, it might take a few months of consistent effort. Your doctor will guide you through the process after identifying the cause.

Bhai, liver enzymes ka upar-neeche hona normal hai, but agar high hain toh doctor ko dikhana zaroori hai. Depending on the reason, it can take 1-3 months for them to come down with proper diet and medicines. Simple ghar ka khana khao, oily cheezein avoid karo, aur doctor ki baat suno, that's the most practical solution.

When my child had elevated liver enzymes after a viral illness, it took about 6-8 weeks for them to completely normalize with just rest and a bland diet, and the doctor's supervision. The key is to find out why they are high first, then the healing time depends on that specific reason. Keep follow-up appointments, it's very important.

Based on my personal experience when my liver enzymes were a bit high due to some medication, they took about 4-6 weeks to return to normal after I stopped the problematic medicine. But this is just my case; it really depends on the underlying reason for the elevation. Your doctor will be able to give you a more accurate timeline.

High liver enzymes can be worrying. I've tried some home remedies like fresh amla juice and milk thistle supplements (after checking with my doc, of course) along with prescribed medicines. The enzymes started coming down for me in about 6-8 weeks, but consistency is key. What caused yours to go up?

Elevated liver enzymes are not something to self-diagnose or wait out. You need to identify the root cause with a doctor. Once the cause is addressed, whether it's medication adjustment, lifestyle changes, or treating an infection, the enzymes typically start to normalize over several weeks to a few months. But first step is a proper check-up, always.
