How long for fever to go away?

My little one has had a fever since yesterday evening, and it's making me quite worried. We're doing everything the doctor told us, but I'm anxious to know how long fevers typically take to subside in children.

I remember panicking so much the first time my fever didn't go away in a day! But then my doctor told me that for most common viral infections, it's normal for a fever to last 2-3 days, sometimes even up to 5. So don't worry too much unless it's super high or you have other symptoms. Rest and paracetamol usually do the trick.

From my experience, a regular viral fever usually goes away in about 2-3 days with proper rest and medication. The key is to take your meds on time, stay hydrated, and don't exert yourself. If it's still high or persisting beyond 3 days, then it's time to see a doctor for further checks.

Bhai, fever toh aati jaati rehti hai. Normal viral fever hai toh 2-3 din mein chali jaati hai, bas time pe dawai le lo aur aaram karo. Ghar pe thoda nimbu pani, haldi doodh bhi le lo. Agar zyaada din rahe ya bahut tez ho, toh doctor ko dikha dena chahiye.

Namaste! For a typical viral fever, you can expect it to go away within 48 to 72 hours. It's important to drink plenty of fluids, take prescribed fever-reducing medication, and get adequate rest. If it persists longer or you have concerning symptoms, a doctor's visit is essential.

Betaji, fevers usually come down in a few days. My grandmother used to say, 'rest is the best medicine'. Along with your doctor's medicine, drink lots of warm water, maybe some ginger tea. If it doesn't improve in 3 days, then definitely go to the doctor, don't delay.
