How long does the pain last for a smashed finger?

I accidentally smashed my finger in the car door, and it's really throbbing. It hurts so much! How long does the pain usually last for a smashed finger?

Smashed finger, ouch! For any injury, controlling inflammation is key. No intense exercises obviously, but gentle elevation and rest. Once the initial pain subsides, maybe some very light finger mobility if cleared by a physio or doc, but definitely not before.

With finger injuries, especially if it's really smashed, you must go to a good hospital. They will tell you exactly what kind of pain to expect and for how long, and what to do. Don't just guess, get a proper diagnosis.

Been there! Smashed my thumb once in a door, thought it was the end of the world. The intense throbbing lasted for a couple of days, then it became a dull ache for about a week. Keep it still and elevated, it will get better.

Honestly, the pain from a smashed finger can be quite intense, both physically and mentally. It's frustrating when even simple tasks become hard. It's okay to feel down about it. Be patient with your healing process.

Be careful, I had a friend who thought it was just a smash, but it was actually a hairline fracture which complicated things. If the pain is severe, or swelling doesn't go down, please see a doctor and get an X-ray. Don't take chances with your bones.

For a smashed finger, rest is very important. Any pain or injury can cause stress, which isn't good if you have BP. Keep it elevated and don't ignore it if the swelling or pain gets worse. Get it checked properly.

Oh no, a smashed finger sounds really painful. I always worry about broken bones even with small bumps. Did anyone else have a smashed finger and the pain lasted longer than they expected? Was it constant or throbbing?

Dude, I smashed my pinky playing cricket once. The initial pain was crazy for a day or two. Then it was sore for like a week or more, especially if I bumped it. Just keep it protected.

Haan, smashed finger ka pain toh tagda hota hai. First few days, it's quite bad, na. Then it becomes a throbbing kind of pain for a week or two. Keep ice on it and don't try to use that finger too much.

Oh my god, a smashed finger! I'd be so worried about nerve damage or if it's broken. The pain can last for weeks if it's bad. Did you get it checked by a doctor? Don't just ignore it, even if it feels a little better.
