How long does tb vaccine last?

I was vaccinated for TB as a child, like most people in India. With new health concerns always coming up, I'm curious if that childhood vaccine still provides protection. How long does the TB vaccine typically last?

The BCG vaccine for TB is primarily given to infants and young children, mainly to protect against severe forms of TB like TB meningitis. Its effectiveness can vary and it doesn't provide lifelong immunity, especially for adults against pulmonary TB. So, it's not a permanent shield, but it offers crucial early protection.

The BCG vaccine is a bit different from other vaccines. It's known to give varying levels of protection, especially for infants and kids, but it's not considered a lifelong vaccine for everyone, especially adults. The protection can wane over time. So, it's not a 'once and done' kind of thing for complete immunity against all TB.

From what my doctor explained during my TB treatment, the BCG vaccine, which is what we get for TB, mainly helps kids, not so much adults for long. It protects against severe forms in childhood, but its effectiveness kinda wears off later. So, it's not like you're immune for life just because you got the vaccine.

Yaar, the TB vaccine, BCG, doesn't really give lifelong protection, especially for adults. It's more effective for severe childhood TB, actually. So, you can't just rely on it forever. Awareness and hygiene are still super important.

I thought the TB vaccine was for life, but my doc said it's mainly for babies and young kids, and its protection for adults isn't that strong or long-lasting. So yeah, don't rely on it for permanent immunity. It's not like that.
