How long does tb stay in the air?

My neighbour has active TB, and I'm trying to be careful. I heard it can spread through the air. How long does the TB bacteria typically stay suspended in the air after an infected person coughs or sneezes?

TB bacteria are very tiny, suspended in droplets from coughing or sneezing. They can stay in the air for several hours in poorly ventilated spaces. This is why good ventilation is so important, especially in close quarters. Fresh air helps dilute and disperse these particles, reducing the risk.

From my experience, if a room is closed and has no air circulation, TB bacteria can definitely hang around in the air for hours. It's like tiny invisible dust particles. The best thing is to open windows, use exhaust fans, and ensure good airflow. Sunlight also helps kill them, so let the light in! It's all about ventilation.

I'm not a doctor, so I can't give medical advice. But based on what I've heard and read when a family member had TB, those bacteria can indeed stay in the air for a few hours, especially if the air isn't moving. That's why cross-ventilation was always emphasized in the house.

My grandmother always used to say, 'Let the air flow, let the sun shine.' And it's true for TB bacteria in the air. They can stay viable for a few hours in still air. But with good ventilation and sunlight, the risk is much lower. Always listen to your doctor about precautions, of course.

Hey! Don't stress too much, but yeah, TB bacteria can linger in the air for a few hours if the room is stuffy. That's why everyone says to keep windows open and let fresh air in. Just try to ensure good ventilation, that's the main takeaway. Take care!

It's alarming how long things can stay in the air, right? I learned the hard way about airborne illnesses when I ignored a persistent cough. For TB, droplets can hang around for hours. So, don't take risks with ventilation or any persistent cough, please get it checked immediately if you suspect anything.

TB bacteria are airborne and can remain suspended in the air for several hours, especially in enclosed, poorly ventilated spaces. This is a serious concern. If you have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with active TB, or have concerns about air quality, please consult a doctor or public health official for testing and safety guidelines. Better safe than sorry.
