How long does sleep training take?

My sister is a new mom and is considering sleep training her baby. She's asking me to help, but I have no idea how long this process usually takes. For those who've done it, how long does sleep training generally take for a baby?

Oh, sleep training. Every child is different, beta. Some learn in a few nights, for others it takes weeks. Just be consistent and loving. It will come, don't worry too much.

It's totally normal to feel anxious about sleep training, I did too! It can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the method and your baby. Just be patient and gentle with yourself.

Sleep training duration is quite individual, depending on the child. Focus on creating a consistent routine. If you or the child seem to have persistent sleep issues, it's always good to ensure general health is in check. Sometimes, conditions like thyroid imbalances can affect sleep for adults, so don't forget your own well-being.

Sleep training can take a few days to a few weeks for results. Try to establish a relaxing bedtime routine; warm bath, soft music, gentle massage can help. If the child has significant trouble sleeping or other concerning symptoms, always consult a pediatrician.

Typically, you're looking at 3-7 nights for initial success with most methods, but full consistency can take a couple of weeks or more. Consistency is key, choose a method and stick with it.
