How long does sleep inertia last?

Sometimes, after I wake up, I feel very groggy and disoriented for a while, even after enough sleep. My friend said it's called sleep inertia. I want to know, how long does sleep inertia typically last?

From what I've read and what my doctor mentioned, sleep inertia can range from a few minutes to a couple of hours, depending on individual sleep cycles and quality. It's that groggy feeling after waking. For persistent issues, a sleep specialist's advice is always best.

Sleep inertia? Oh, you mean my entire morning until my third cup of chai? Some days it feels like it lasts FOREVER. Seriously though, 30-60 mins for me on a bad day, sometimes less if I wake up naturally.

Generally, it passes in a short while. But if you feel it's too long or affecting your daily life much, it's better to consult a doctor. Don't ignore things related to sleep; it's very important for overall health.

I totally get it, that feeling of not being fully 'there' after waking up can be quite frustrating. For me, it's usually 15-30 minutes, but some days it lingers if my sleep was disturbed. Having a routine helps a bit, I've noticed.

Ho na, sometimes that hazy feeling after waking up is just too much. For me, it's usually gone within half an hour after I get up and start moving. A quick face wash and some water helps. But haan na, if it's really bad, maybe check with a doc.
