How long does selenium take to work for thyroid?

My endocrinologist recommended I take a selenium supplement for my thyroid. I've started taking it, but I'm curious, how long does selenium usually take to show some effect for thyroid issues?

I just started taking selenium for my thyroid too! I'm so anxious to see if it makes a difference. Has anyone else felt any changes, and how long did it take for you to notice something? I'm hoping for some relief soon.

Beta, with thyroid issues, nothing works overnight. Selenium is a supplement, not a quick fix. My doctor said it takes at least 2-3 months to see some impact on thyroid antibodies, if at all. Consistency is key, don't expect magic in a few days.

While selenium is often recommended, always take it under doctor's guidance, and ensure you're not over-dosing as too much can be harmful. It's a supportive measure, not a primary treatment. Your main thyroid medication and regular blood tests are paramount.

Selenium, haan? I mostly get my selenium from my diet, like nuts! It's supposed to help with thyroid function. But for supplements, I guess it's a slow burn. Like a good biryani, it needs time to cook to taste best. Give it a few months, maybe?

Oh, this is something I've obsessed over too! When I started selenium, I kept waiting to feel different every day. But actually, it's a slow process. Doctors say it usually takes a minimum of 3 months to even begin seeing an effect on antibody levels, so don't fret if you don't feel it immediately.

Sweetheart, with anything related to thyroid, patience is really important. Selenium is more about optimizing thyroid function over time, rather than a quick cure. Your body needs time to adjust and show changes. Keep taking it regularly as prescribed and don't miss your follow-ups.

Selenium is generally seen as a long-term support for thyroid health, particularly for autoimmunity. It might take several months, perhaps 3-6, to show measurable changes in thyroid markers. Be patient and continue your regular medication.

My friend who has thyroid takes selenium, and she said her doc told her it's not a quick fix, man. Like, you gotta take it consistently for months, maybe 3-6, before they test again to see if her antibodies are down. So, no instant results.

Yaar, selenium for thyroid, actually it's more of a long-term support thing, not a fast-acting medicine. My endocrinologist said expect to see effects on antibody levels after maybe 3 to 6 months. It's not like you'll feel a huge difference instantly, you know?
