How long does sciatic pain last?

Been having this shooting pain from my lower back all the way down my leg for about two weeks now. My physiotherapist thinks it's sciatic pain. Just wondering, how long does this kind of pain typically last?

Sciatic pain can be really tricky. Mine started mild and I ignored it, then it got so bad I couldn't walk properly for weeks. It can last from a few weeks to several months, or even become chronic if not treated right. Please see a spine specialist, don't self-diagnose or delay.

Sciatica is such a nuisance! For many, it resolves in about 4-6 weeks with rest, pain meds, and gentle stretches. But for some, especially if there's a disc issue, it can persist for months. Consistency with physiotherapy is key. Don't lose hope, it usually gets better.

Sciatica is a nerve issue, not a common ache. Don't experiment with random internet 'cures' or exercises without a proper diagnosis. You need an orthopaedic or neurologist to figure out the root cause (pun intended!) and create a safe treatment plan. Get an MRI if advised.

Ah, sciatica! Many people in our families have faced this. Sometimes, warm oil massage gives a little relief, and lying down on a firm surface. But these are just for comfort, beta. For actual cure, you must go to a good doctor and follow their advice fully.

Sciatic pain can be very debilitating. It usually takes several weeks or months to heal properly with consistent treatment. Take care and follow all the doctor's instructions.

Just like how thyroid issues need consistent monitoring, sciatic pain also needs a very structured approach. Don't expect instant relief. Regular follow-ups with your physiotherapist and doctor are crucial to track progress and adjust your plan. Patience is key.

For sciatic pain, proper posture is super important, I've tracked my sitting habits with an app. Also, certain stretching routines can help, but ensure they're approved by a physio. Recovery can be slow, sometimes 6-8 weeks or more. Consistent movement and correct form matter a lot.

I was reading about this. It seems sciatica duration varies a lot based on the compression. Some clear up in a month or two, but chronic cases can persist for much longer. It's definitely not a simple pain.
