How long does projectile vomiting last?

My 6-month-old baby had a sudden episode of projectile vomiting yesterday. It was quite scary. It happened once and then she seemed okay, but I'm worried. How long does projectile vomiting typically last in infants?

I've heard projectile vomiting usually indicates something more serious than just a mild upset stomach. It might be due to food poisoning or a stomach bug. From what I've researched, it generally doesn't last too long, maybe a day or two, but requires immediate medical attention to avoid dehydration.

Projectile vomiting needs immediate medical attention, especially if it continues. It's not something to wait out at home.

My son had projectile vomiting once due to a stomach infection. It was scary! It lasted only a few hours but he became very dehydrated quickly. We rushed him to the doctor. Please don't delay, if it's projectile vomiting, see a doctor right away to prevent severe dehydration, especially if it's a child or elderly person.

Oh my god, that sounds awful! Projectile vomiting is definitely not normal. It could be food poisoning or a really bad stomach bug. You need to see a doctor immediately, especially to make sure you don't get dehydrated. Don't wait for it to pass.

Hey, if it's proper projectile vomiting, you really, really need to see a doctor quickly. Don't stress too much about the duration; focus on getting immediate medical help. It's often a sign of something that needs urgent attention to prevent dehydration or other complications. Please go right away!
