How long does ovarian cyst pain last after rupture?

I had an ovarian cyst rupture last week and the pain was really severe. It's still a bit uncomfortable. How long does the pain from an ovarian cyst rupture usually last?

Honestly, the sharp pain can take a few days to settle down as the body absorbs the fluid. I have thyroid issues and have realized that ignoring deep pelvic issues or hormonal imbalances is never wise. Please do get an ultrasound done to make sure everything is clear and follow up with your gynecologist.

I had a ruptured cyst just last month and the intense pain lasted for about 3 to 4 days, though a dull ache stayed for a week. My doctor put me on pain relievers and advised complete bed rest. If you are feeling dizzy or having heavy bleeding, please go to the ER immediately.

My wife went through this and her severe pain started getting better after 48 hours, but the soreness lingered for a week. While recovering, focus on light, non-inflammatory foods and avoid any heavy sugar stuff to keep your body inflammation low. It is best to stay in touch with your doc during this recovery phase.

I was just reading a few medical threads on this because my cousin had it last week. From what I gathered, most women say the sharpest pain goes away in 2-3 days, but a mild soreness can stay for up to two weeks. It basically depends on how much fluid was released during the rupture.

I am so sorry you are dealing with this pain. Actually, I was recently reading about this because I also feel a sharp side pain sometimes. Does the pain fully go away on its own, or is it normal to feel a bit of pressure for weeks?

Please don't take any chances with a ruptured cyst. While pain usually reduces in a couple of days, internal bleeding is a real risk. You must visit your doctor immediately to get a proper scan done and ensure there is no internal infection or complications.
