How long does nortriptyline take to work for sleep?

My doctor prescribed nortriptyline for my insomnia, I'm really struggling to get proper sleep. Just wondering, how long does it usually take to actually start feeling its effects so I can finally get some rest?

Nortriptyline usually starts helping with sleep within 1 to 2 weeks of starting the dose. Keep in mind that this is a long-term prescription drug, so check the prices of generic versions to keep your monthly medication costs low.

My smartwatch tracker showed my deep sleep percentage starting to improve around the 10-day mark on this medication. While the sedative effect starts early, it can take up to 4 weeks to stabilize your overall sleep cycle, so stay patient.

It takes about 1 to 2 weeks for the sedative effect of nortriptyline to work properly. While taking it, make sure to avoid heavy dinners or spicy food close to bedtime so your digestion doesn't interfere with your sleep.

I was prescribed a very low dose of this for my insomnia and chronic pain. The sleepiness kicked in within the first week itself, though I felt a bit groggy in the mornings for the first few days. That morning fog eventually cleared up.

For me, it actually took around 10 days to start showing proper results for sleep, yaar. At first, I felt super dry-mouthed in the morning, but my sleep quality got much better after the second week.
