How long does mirtazapine weight gain last?

I was prescribed mirtazapine for my anxiety, and I've noticed I'm gaining weight, which my doctor said is a known side effect. I'm really concerned, for how long does this mirtazapine-induced weight gain typically last? Will it stop once my body adjusts to the medicine?

Honestly, I was searching about this every single day when I started. It really makes you panic because the scale just keeps going up. For me, the intense craving phase lasted for about 2 to 3 months before finally stabilizing. Just keep an eye on your patterns and please talk to your doctor if it is making you too anxious.

I put on around 6 kgs when I was on it, mostly because it made me so incredibly hungry at night. Once my doc slowly tapered my dose after six months, the constant urge to snack stopped and the weight came off quite naturally. Just be gentle with yourself right now, your mental health is the main priority.

Listen, don't stress too much about the weight right now, yaaro. This medicine is helping your mind heal, and that is what matters most. The crazy appetite usually settles down in a few weeks once your body gets used to the dose. Just try to stock up on healthier snacks like roasted makhana instead of chips.

The midnight sweet cravings on mirtazapine are next level, I swear I could eat a whole slab of chocolate daily! For me, that extreme urge to constantly munch lasted for about two months. Once that phase passed, my normal appetite returned and managing the weight became much easier.

Oh God, I totally freaked out in the first month because none of my jeans were fitting anymore. But honestly, it's totally normal because this medicine changes your satiety signals. Once I got active and adjusted my diet a bit, the weight gain stopped and plateaued. It does not keep increasing forever, so take a deep breath.
