How long does migratory arthritis last?

My father has been diagnosed with migratory arthritis, where the pain shifts from one joint to another. I wanted to understand, how long does each episode of pain from migratory arthritis usually last in a particular joint before moving on? He's quite uncomfortable.

I had migratory arthritis during a severe gout flare-up last year where the pain moved from my knee to my ankle in three days. The acute joint pain lasted for about 2 weeks until my treatment was adjusted. It is very painful but it does settle down.

Don't panic about the pain shifting from one joint to another. It is typical for migratory arthritis, and once the main cause like a bacterial infection or autoimmune issue is treated, the pain stops moving. Usually, it resolves in a few weeks under medical guidance.

The shifting joint pain can last from a few days to several weeks depending on what is causing it. Please see a doctor soon.

If pain is jumping from joint to joint, don't sit around waiting for it to stop. This is a clear medical condition that requires a proper rheumatologist's intervention. Get your blood tests like CRP and ESR done immediately.

It is like a musical chairs game but with joint pain! Usually, this shifting pain settles down in a couple of weeks once you start the correct treatment. Just hang in there, your joints will stop playing games soon!

I know how frustrating it is when one joint stops hurting and another one starts immediately; it makes you feel like your own body is playing tricks on you. My struggle lasted for almost a month before we found the right medication. Hugs to you, stay strong.

Please be very careful as migratory arthritis can sometimes be a sign of rheumatic fever or serious autoimmune diseases. When my sister had it, she delayed seeing a specialist and it affected her heart valves. Please get a proper doctor's diagnosis right away.
