How long does migraine aphasia last?

I suffer from migraines, and sometimes I get this weird thing where I can't find the right words or speak properly. My doctor called it migraine aphasia. For how long does this specific symptom usually last during a migraine attack?

Migraine aphasia, where you struggle to find words, usually lasts between 20 minutes to an hour as part of the aura phase. If it continues after your headache is gone, or if you have never had this before, you should consult a neurologist immediately to rule out other issues.

It is so scary when you suddenly can't speak properly during a migraine attack! For me, this phase lasts about 30 minutes right before the actual headache kicks in. I usually just lie down in a dark room and try not to panic.

Bro, during my exams, I got this and couldn't frame a single sentence for like 40 minutes. It was super weird but my doctor said it's just a classic migraine aura symptom. It usually wraps up in under an hour.

When my daughter gets this, she cannot speak clearly for about half an hour. I make her lie down in a quiet room and give her some warm water. It goes away on its own soon, don't worry.

This usually lasts for 30 to 45 minutes. Because I already manage thyroid issues, I make sure to do yearly neurological checkups to ensure my migraine patterns haven't changed. Do consult your doctor regularly.

In my experience, the speech confusion clears up in about 30 minutes. Once the headache phase also passes, doing light yoga stretching or a gentle walk in fresh air helps me recover my energy back quickly.

My neurologist explained that transient language difficulty during migraine is a form of aura. It typically resolves completely within 60 minutes. However, any new or prolonged speech difficulty requires urgent medical evaluation to rule out a stroke.

The first time it happened to me, I sounded like a broken robot for about 45 minutes! It usually passes within an hour. Just warn your friends beforehand so they don't think you've forgotten your own language, haha.
