The standard Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) certification is valid for exactly 3 years. After that, you have to take a short refresher course to keep it active. I renewed mine last year and it is definitely worth keeping updated.

It lasts for 3 years, simple as that. Don't think once you do it you are set for life; the guidelines change, so you must do the recertification when the time comes.

Hey, I did this course during my college days. The certificate is valid for 3 years from the issue date. It is a good thing to have on your resume, especially if you work in HR or social sectors.

The official MHFA body specifies a 3-year validity period for the certificate. This is because protocols and support techniques are updated based on new psychological research. You will receive an email notification for a refresher course near your expiry date.

In our times we didn't have these formal certificates, but it is wonderful that young people are doing this now. Yes, it lasts for 3 years, but the empathy and skills you learn will stay with you for a lifetime.
