How long does melatonin make you sleep?
I've been having trouble sleeping lately, and my friend suggested I try melatonin. I'm curious, for how long does melatonin typically keep you asleep? I don't want to feel drowsy the next morning.

Bro, for me, a 5mg melatonin gummy usually knocks me out for a solid 6 to 7 hours. But honestly, if I don't sleep immediately after taking it, the effect just wears off and I end up scrolling on my phone again.
I used melatonin for two weeks when I had terrible insomnia post-COVID. It generally helped me sleep for about 6 hours straight without waking up in the middle of the night. But my doctor told me to taper it off so my body doesn't depend on it.

When I take melatonin, I sleep for about 7 hours but I get very vivid, weird dreams and wake up feeling slightly anxious. Does this happen to anyone else? I am thinking of stopping it because of this strange feeling.

Melatonin isn't a sleeping pill, it just signals your brain to sleep. For me, it helps me fall asleep within 30 minutes and keeps me down for about 6 hours. If you take too much, you'll just feel super groggy the next morning.
