How long does it take to lower liver enzymes?

My recent blood test showed slightly elevated liver enzymes. My doctor suggested diet and exercise changes. I'm wondering, how long does it usually take for these enzyme levels to come down once I start making healthy changes?

I was told it takes about 2 to 4 weeks for mild cases to show improvement, but my SGPT is still slightly high after a month of dieting. Has anyone else experienced this slow recovery? I am getting really worried about my repeat tests next week.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to see high numbers on your LFT report, I literally cried when I saw mine. But please stay calm, liver enzymes can start coming down in just 2 to 4 weeks of clean eating and zero alcohol. Just follow your doctor's instructions and things will get better.

In my experience, you can see a good drop in 3 to 6 weeks. I used to drink warm water with a squeeze of fresh lemon in the morning and completely avoided deep-fried foods. Combine these simple adjustments with your doctor's advice and your reports will improve soon.

I totally get it, seeing those high SGOT and SGPT levels can make you feel so anxious. It usually takes about a month or two of a low-fat diet and lifestyle changes to lower them. Just take it easy on yourself, your body is doing its best to heal.

It took almost 2 months for my levels to normalize, and honestly, the emotional stress of waiting for the reports was the hardest part. It is okay to feel overwhelmed when your health feels out of control. Just give your body the rest and clean nutrition it needs.

Look, it takes around 4 to 8 weeks to lower those enzymes, but you have to completely cut out alcohol and junk food. There is no magic pill; you just need to follow a clean diet and get some regular exercise. Be disciplined and get a repeat test next month.
