How long does it take to go into rem sleep?

I've been reading up on sleep cycles and everyone talks about REM sleep. Once I'm asleep, how quickly do we actually reach that REM stage? Does it vary much?

I completely understand why you are tracking this, sleeping issues can make anyone super anxious. Usually, it takes around 90 minutes to hit that first REM cycle. Honestly, try not to obsess over the exact minutes on your tracker because that stress itself ruins your sleep quality.

It generally takes about an hour and a half to reach REM sleep. Just try to keep your room dark and relax. Don't worry too much about the numbers, it will happen naturally.

It takes around 90 minutes but omg, I used to stay up checking my smartwatch every night wondering why my deep and REM sleep percentages were so low! It made my sleep even worse. If you are really feeling fatigued, maybe talk to a professional so you don't keep stressing over it like I did.

For most people it takes about 90 minutes, but hormone imbalances can totally mess up your sleep cycles. I struggle with thyroid issues and my sleep cycles were all over the place until I got my blood tests done and consulted my endocrinologist. Please get your levels checked if you're feeling constantly exhausted.

It normally takes 90 minutes, but what you eat close to bedtime makes a huge difference. Having a heavy, greasy dinner or high-protein vegetarian meals too late can delay your sleep cycle. Try to keep your dinner light, maybe some warm turmeric milk, and see if your sleep improves.

It takes about 90 minutes for the cycle to start. If you are thinking of getting a proper sleep study done to measure this, keep in mind those clinical sleep tests can be quite expensive in private hospitals, usually starting from 8k to 15k. Check with your insurance first or look for government hospital options to plan your budget.

You will find a lot of random timelines online, usually saying 90 minutes, but everyone's body chemistry is different. Don't trust random internet tips or apps to track your brain waves. If you are actually facing severe insomnia or sleep apnea, get a proper diagnosis from a sleep specialist.

It takes about 90 minutes to get into REM. Honestly, if you want better sleep cycles, physical fatigue helps a lot. Try adding a 30-minute brisk walk in the evening, provided your doctor has cleared you for exercise, it worked wonders for me.
