How long does it take to die from diabetic ketoacidosis?

My cousin, who has diabetes, recently had a severe episode of DKA. It was very scary. I want to understand, in critical cases, how quickly can someone die from diabetic ketoacidosis if not treated immediately?

Bhaiya, yeh diabetic ketoacidosis bahut khatarnak cheez hai aur isme bilkul deri nahi karni chahiye. Shareer mein jab zeher banne lagta hai toh insaan kuch hi ghanto ya ek-do din mein bahut gambhir ho sakta hai. Turant bade hospital leke jana chahiye.

Whoa, let's not talk about dying so fast, my friend! DKA is super serious and can escalate within 24 hours, but modern emergency rooms are awesome at fixing it with simple IV fluids and insulin. Just don't sit at home reading scary stuff if someone is feeling sick.

As a Type 1 diabetic, I know that DKA can develop in less than 24 hours if you miss your insulin doses. It is a critical state where your blood becomes acidic. Always monitor your ketone levels and never skip your doctor's prescribed insulin regimen.

DKA is a severe medical emergency that can become fatal within 24 to 48 hours due to organ failure. Do not trust any home remedies, herbal juices, or online forums if blood sugar is sky-high and vomiting starts. Take the patient to an ICU immediately.

I had a DKA episode two years ago and literally landed in the ICU within 12 hours of feeling nauseous and short of breath. It is a rapid and highly life-threatening condition. If you notice heavy breathing or a fruity breath odor, please go to the nearest emergency room immediately.
