How long does it take to develop kidney stones?

I've heard kidney stones are extremely painful, and I want to avoid them. My friend just got one and he said it felt like it came out of nowhere. How long does it actually take for kidney stones to form inside the body?

I have PCOS and must be very careful with my calcium intake and hydration, as metabolic issues can sometimes affect how the body processes minerals. Stones can form in just a few months if you are severely dehydrated. I always try to drink plenty of water, but I definitely recommend consulting a doctor for proper tests.

The pain of a kidney stone is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, it literally broke me emotionally when it hit suddenly. These stones can grow quietly over months or even years without you feeling a thing. I completely feel for anyone going through this pain right now.

Our bodies are beautiful instruments that tell us when we are neglecting them. Kidney stones usually take a few months of low water intake and stress to crystallize. Stay positive, drink pure water mindfully, and let your body heal with peace and care.

My teenage son developed a small kidney stone last year because of his habit of eating too much salty junk food and barely drinking water during school hours. The doctor said it took around 5-6 months to form. Now I strictly monitor his water bottle and limit his chips intake.

Stones don't form in a single week; they are a result of chronic low water intake over several months. The simplest, cheapest solution is to keep a 1-litre bottle next to you at all times and finish three of them daily. No fancy medicines can beat basic hydration.

I have seen many people in this group asking about stone formation times. Generally, depending on your diet, genetics, and local climate, it takes anywhere from a few months to a couple of years to form. Just stick to a low-sodium diet and keep your urine clear, not yellow.

I totally get it, the anxiety of wondering when a stone might start hurting is just awful. They usually form slowly over months because of high salt and too little water. Please be gentle with yourself and try to drink coconut water or lemon water to help flush things out.

Haan na, kidney stones ka pain is really terrible. It takes around few months for the calcium oxalate to deposit and make a stone, ho na? Hum dhyan nahi dete paani peene par, isliye yeh problem hoti hai.

At 53, my body seems to enjoy creating stones more than creating memories! Jokes apart, my doctor told me my 6mm stone probably took about 6 to 8 months of lazy water-drinking habits to fully form. Keep chugging that water if you don't want a mini rock concert in your bladder.

In my 60 years, I have had kidney stones twice, and both times they developed silently over a couple of years of neglecting water during hot summers. Do not worry, it is a very common issue and with modern medicine and drinking plenty of barley water, it is easily manageable.

I was just reading up on this because my uncle got diagnosed recently. Apparently, tiny crystals can start clustering in just a few weeks if you drink almost no water, but they take months to grow large enough to cause symptoms. It's crazy how we don't realize what's happening inside.

For busy professionals, sitting in AC offices makes us forget to drink water, and stones can easily form in 3 to 6 months. I keep a high-priority water reminder app on my phone now. It's a quick fix to avoid losing days of work due to sudden pain.
