How long does it take ibuprofen to lower a fever?

My little sister has a fever and my mom gave her ibuprofen. She's still feeling very hot. How much time does ibuprofen usually take to actually bring a fever down?

For me it usually takes around 45 minutes to an hour to start showing any effect. Did your temperature also stay high for the first half hour after taking it? I always get super anxious waiting for the fever to go down, wondering if it's actually working or not.

Usually it takes 40 to 60 minutes for ibuprofen to work. Along with the medicine, I always put a wet cloth on my kids' foreheads to help cool down the fever. Normal tap water works best, just don't use ice cold water.

Bhai, it takes about one hour to cool down the body. Do not worry at all. Just have some warm water and rest under a light blanket, you will feel much better very soon.

Agreed, it easily takes about 45 minutes to work. Just make sure you don't take it on an empty stomach to avoid acidity.

Hey, it takes around 30 to 45 minutes for me. Don't rush to take another dose if the fever doesn't drop immediately, just give it some time to absorb. Keep drinking fluids like coconut water or warm soup in the meantime.

Ibuprofen is not an express train, it's more like a local train that takes a solid hour to arrive! Don't keep checking the thermometer every five minutes, it won't work faster. Just watch a show and let the pill do its magic.

It takes roughly an hour to bring down the temperature. If the fever is high and doesn't budge even after two hours, it is better to consult your local family doctor instead of self-medicating further. Always keep a basic paracetamol or ibuprofen handy at home, but use it wisely.
