How long does it take for metformin to work pcos?

I recently started taking Metformin for my PCOS, and I'm really hoping to see some improvements soon. My doctor explained it takes time, but I'm curious to know roughly how long it usually takes for the medication to actually start showing its effects on PCOS symptoms. When can I expect to feel a difference?

Please keep your mind peaceful during this time and trust the healing process. Generally, the body takes around three to four months to balance internal functions. Stay positive and take care, things will slowly fall into place.

Honestly, our bodies are not superfast trains, they run like those slow local passenger ones. For my wife, it took around 3 months of regular metformin to actually show any change in her reports. Till then, we just enjoyed the side effects together, haha. Keep going!

I totally get it, waiting for results when you have PCOS is so frustrating. When I started metformin, I didn't see any changes for the first 8 weeks and wanted to stop. But around the third month, my energy levels improved and cycles got regular. Hang in there, it will work.

I have been taking it for a month now but still haven't seen any change, and I am getting worried. Did anyone else also feel no difference in the first 4-5 weeks? My doctor says wait for 3 months, but I feel so anxious.

Expect about 3 months before you see a real difference in your blood reports. Don't waste money doing insulin or HbA1c tests every month, wait for at least 90 days. Budget your tests properly and get them done in a package from a local lab to save some cash.

I agree with others, it takes around 3 months. Just make sure you take it with your meals to reduce the initial stomach distress.

Clinically, we tell patients to wait for 12 weeks to evaluate the real effect of metformin on PCOS. The dosage also needs gradual adjustment sometimes to avoid tummy issues. Take it regularly as prescribed by your doctor and don't skip doses.

Haan na, starting me lagta hai kab thik hoga sab. I saw results in my ovulation cycle only after 3 months of daily metformin. It is slow but definitely effective, ho na. Just trust your doctor and keep taking it.

My wife faced severe diarrhea and vomiting within a week of starting metformin for PCOS, and we had to visit the hospital. Please be very cautious if the side effects don't subside in 10 days. Go back to your doctor to see if the dose needs to be adjusted.

Metformin is like that slow relative who promises to reach in 10 minutes but takes 2 hours. Usually, it takes 8 to 12 weeks to show its magic, so don't stare at the weighing scale every morning. Just let the tablet do its slow-motion dance inside!

At the hospital where I get my sister's treatment done, the doctor clearly told us that metformin takes 3 to 6 months to regulate hormones. Don't guess the timing yourself. It is always better to ask your specialist clearly about what timeline they expect for your specific case.

My mother-in-law wanted me to try herbal remedies when my periods were delayed, but I decided to trust my gynecologist. The metformin took about three months to show a noticeable difference in my cycle. Calmly continue your medication and follow your doctor's plan.

I panicked so much when my periods were still late after 6 weeks on metformin. But my doctor calmed me down and said it's totally normal for the drug to take 12 weeks to show action. Sure enough, by the end of the third month, everything started balancing out. Relax, it's normal for it to take time.
