How long does it take for kidney stones to form?

My uncle recently had kidney stone surgery, and he mentioned that these stones can form quite quickly. It made me curious, how long does it typically take for a kidney stone to actually develop from scratch? I'm trying to be more careful with my diet now.

From what I found, they can develop in just a few months if you are highly dehydrated or have high calcium intake, but often they take years.

Hey, don't stress too much about it. Just keep drinking 3 liters of water daily and those tiny crystals won't even get a chance to form.

If you eat too much spinach or tomatoes without drinking enough water, oxalates can form stones in a matter of months. Balance your diet carefully.

Stones form when minerals in urine crystallize. Depending on your water intake and diet, it can take anywhere from a few weeks to several years.

It usually takes several months of low water intake for a stone to fully form. Keep yourself hydrated and you will be completely safe.

I used to panic thinking a stone would form overnight if I missed drinking water one day. It actually takes months of continuous neglect, so don't worry.

If you take heavy protein supplements without doubling your daily water intake, kidney stones can form in a few months. Always stay hydrated during workouts.
