How long does it take for formaldehyde to cause cancer?

My husband works in a chemical factory, and sometimes he's exposed to different substances. We were discussing occupational hazards the other day, and I was wondering about formaldehyde. How long does it typically take for exposure to formaldehyde to potentially cause cancer?

If you are working in an industry with high exposure, it's best to ask your doctor clearly about the risks. Typically, it takes years of daily inhalation to cause serious cellular damage.

I understand how scary it is to worry about chemical exposures in daily life. Just know that casual, low-level exposure is very unlikely to cause harm, so try not to stress.

My physician friend mentioned that cancer risk from formaldehyde is linked to heavy, chronic occupational exposure over 10 to 15 years, not from household items.

Don't let these online articles panic you. Unless you work in a lab or chemical factory without safety gear for years, you are safe from any such severe risks.

In today's world, everything seems to have some chemical or the other! It takes decades of constant exposure to cause real trouble, so don't lose sleep over small exposures.
