How long does it take fever blister to go away?

I woke up with a really annoying fever blister on my lip yesterday, and it's quite painful and unsightly. I'm applying a cream, but it doesn't seem to be drying out quickly. How long does it usually take for a fever blister to completely go away?

Generally, they heal in about two weeks. However, if they are spreading, very painful, or not improving after 10 days, please consult a dermatologist to make sure it is not a secondary bacterial infection.

Whenever I get these blisters on my lip, they usually take around 10 to 12 days to completely disappear. I just avoid touching them and let them heal on their own without applying random things.

It takes about 10 days to clear up fully. Keeping up your general health with simple walks and clean food helps your immune system fight the virus, but don't overexert yourself if you are feeling weak.

I totally get it, those lip blisters are extremely uncomfortable and can make you feel so conscious in public. They usually run their course in about two weeks, so please try to be patient with your skin.

Mine has been there for over a week and it is still looking quite red and crusty. Does it always take this long to clear up, or should I be worried that it is something more serious?

Beti, it takes about ten to twelve days to dry up and fall off. Do not scratch or pinch the blister, otherwise it will pain more. Just eat simple food and let it heal slowly.
