How long does ibuprofen reduce fever?

My son has a high fever, and after giving him ibuprofen, I'm waiting for it to come down. I want to know when I might need to give him another dose or try something else. How long does ibuprofen typically reduce a fever for?

It usually keeps the fever down for 6 to 8 hours. I once ignored a recurring fever, just popping tablets, and ended up with a severe infection that hospitalized me. Please get a proper checkup if your fever keeps returning.

Ibuprofen works for about 6 to 8 hours to keep the fever low. While the medicine does its work, you can also put a cool, wet cloth on the forehead to help soothe the body. Make sure to eat a little food before taking the tablet.

It is supposed to last 6 to 8 hours, but I get so anxious when the temperature starts creeping up again at the 5-hour mark! Please don't take another dose early out of panic. Check with a doctor if the fever is too high.

It keeps the fever down for 6 to 8 hours. Since ibuprofen can cause acidity, I always suggest eating some simple boiled rice or a banana first. Never take such strong medicines on an empty stomach.

It keeps the fever away for about 6 to 8 hours, giving you enough time to at least enjoy a warm bowl of soup! Just make sure your stomach is full before you take it, as it can be a bit harsh.

Beta, it keeps the body cool for 6 to 8 hours. You can drink warm tulsi tea to help your body sweat out the illness, but always listen to what the doctor tells you about taking medicines.
