How long does hydrocortisone cream take to work on eczema?

My son has eczema, and the doctor prescribed hydrocortisone cream for his flare-ups. I applied it yesterday, but I'm curious, how long does hydrocortisone cream usually take to start working and soothe the eczema?

Hydrocortisone cream should start soothing your skin and reducing the itch within 3 to 7 days, dear. While the medicine does its work, try to keep your mind calm and avoid scratching. Take care of your body with gentle care and positive thoughts.

It usually takes about 3 to 7 days for hydrocortisone to clear up mild eczema. While you are treating it, try to avoid sweating too much as it can irritate the skin. Keep doing light walks in cool environments if your doctor says it's okay.

According to most dermatological guidelines, you should see a visible reduction in redness and irritation within 3 to 5 days. I usually log my skin flare-ups on my health tracker to see what triggers them. Don't use it for more than a week without a doctor's advice.

I literally just used this for a bad patch on my elbow last week. The intense itching stopped in 2 days and the redness went away completely by day 5. Just apply a very thin layer as prescribed by your dermatologist.

Actually, it works pretty fast, yaar. You should see the itching go down in like 3 or 4 days max. But don't keep applying it forever because steroids can thin your skin. If it doesn't clear up, just visit your doc.

Hydrocortisone cream works quickly, usually within 3 to 5 days. I tried using coconut oil and aloe vera for my eczema for months, but sometimes you just need the proper medical cream to calm down a bad flare-up. Apply it sparingly and keep the skin moisturized.
