How long does high fever last with the flu?

I've been down with a really bad flu, and my fever has been consistently high for two days now. It's making me feel quite weak. How long can one expect a high fever to last with the flu virus before it starts coming down?

Usually, a flu fever stays for about 3 to 4 days, dear. During this time, let your body rest completely and practice very gentle breathing exercises. Keep drinking warm water and let the fever run its course naturally under medical guidance.

Normally, that high fever will peak and settle down in 3 to 5 days. Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids and keeping your nutrition up even if you don't feel like eating. Don't rush back to the gym until you are completely recovered.

My doctor told me a flu fever typically lasts about 3 to 4 days. It is very important to monitor your temperature closely, just like I monitor my blood pressure. Get a proper checkup if it doesn't settle down after a few days.

Please be very careful with high fevers. A normal flu fever should go away in 3-5 days, but when my fever didn't drop, it turned into severe pneumonia. If your fever is extremely high or you have trouble breathing, please go to the hospital immediately.

My fever has been quite high for two days now and it is making me a bit nervous. People say it lasts 3 to 4 days, but is it normal to feel completely exhausted and shivering like this? Should I wait another day or consult a doctor now?

I panicked completely last month when my fever hit 102 and stayed there for 3 days. But honestly, it turned out to be normal flu and broke on the fourth day. Just take paracetamol as prescribed, keep hydrated, and it will pass.

In all my years, I've seen that a good flu fever usually breaks in 3 to 5 days. Drink warm soups, take your medicines on time, and get plenty of sleep. Your body just needs time to fight it off, so do not worry too much.

Normally it takes 3 to 4 days to settle. You can use cold compresses on the forehead and drink ginger-tulsi tea to feel better, but if the fever is crossing 103 degrees or doesn't go away in 4 days, please see a doctor immediately.
