How long does hemorrhoid pain last?

Been dealing with hemorrhoids recently and the pain is quite bothersome. I've been trying home remedies, but it's still there. Just wondering, how long does hemorrhoid pain typically last, and when is it time to see a doc?

It usually takes about a week to settle down if you stop eating spicy food and drink lots of water. Sitting on a hard chair in college is a nightmare when this happens, so try to use a soft cushion.

In my experience, the sharp flare-up pain lasted for about 4 to 5 days. I found that doing warm sitz baths twice a day really helped soothe the area, but everyone's recovery time can be different.

For mild cases, the acute pain should subside within 7 to 10 days with a high-fiber diet and stool softeners. However, if you notice bleeding or if the pain is severe and persistent, it is highly recommended to consult a general surgeon.

The pain usually lasts a week, but you need to avoid heavy squats and straining at the gym during this time. Focus on getting enough fiber from oats and green veggies to make bowel movements easier.

Usually, the intense pain subsides in about 3 to 7 days. You can use an over-the-counter soothing cream and take warm sitz baths. If there is heavy bleeding or the pain doesn't budge after a week, please get it checked by a doctor.

Typically, the swelling and pain go down in a week. Once the acute pain reduces, doing light walking helps improve circulation and digestion, but make sure to check with your doctor before starting any exercise.
