How long does gallbladder pain last?

I've been having these sharp pains in my upper abdomen, and my doctor thinks it might be gallbladder issues. The pain comes and goes, but sometimes it's really intense. How long does gallbladder pain typically last?

A typical gallbladder attack can last anywhere from 1 to 5 hours, but the pain can be very intense. It is better to plan and get an ultrasound done early in a government or budget lab, as ignoring it might lead to emergency surgery costs which are much higher. Getting a timely doctor consultation will save you a lot of money and pain later.

I know exactly how draining and scary that sudden upper stomach pain is, and it really takes a toll on your mental peace. My attacks used to last for 3 long hours, leaving me crying and exhausted. Please know you are not alone in this, and it is okay to feel overwhelmed by the constant fear of the next pain.

According to the gastroenterologist I consulted, biliary colic pain typically peaks within an hour and can persist for up to 6 hours. If the pain extends beyond 6 hours and is accompanied by fever or chills, the doctor warned it could indicate acute cholecystitis, which requires immediate medical attention.

I used to think my gallbladder pain was just normal acidity and let it go for months, only for it to turn into a severe infection that needed emergency hospitalization. The pain usually lasts a couple of hours, but don't make the mistake of waiting like I did. Get a proper checkup and ultrasound done immediately.

The sharp pain usually lasts a few hours, during which you should absolutely rest and not push yourself. Once the acute phase is over and your doctor gives the green light, light walking can help with digestion. Avoid any core workouts or heavy lifting when you have active gallbladder issues.

In my experience, the discomfort can stay for 2 to 4 hours and feel very sharp under the ribs. Since I manage PCOS, I am always careful about hormonal changes affecting my gallbladder, so I avoid self-treating. It is best to have a doctor evaluate the pain safely rather than guessing.
