How long does fever last with mono?
My younger brother has been diagnosed with mono, and he's had a fever for a few days now. My mother is really worried, so we wanted to know how long this fever typically lasts. Will it go away soon?

Mono is famous for a long-lasting fever, which can easily go on for 7 to 14 days, sometimes even longer. The fatigue is also very intense. Don't try to rush back to normal life; your body needs serious rest for this one.
My physician explained that the Epstein-Barr virus (which causes mono) has a long incubation and recovery cycle, meaning fever commonly peaks and drops over 10 to 14 days. He also highly recommended avoiding any contact sports because of the risk of spleen enlargement.
When I had mononucleosis, my fever ran for about nearly two weeks, accompanied by a very sore throat. I can only share that resting completely and avoiding any heavy lifting helped me. Please consult your doctor for your specific recovery plan.
I know how exhausting it is when the fever doesn't leave you for 10-12 days. I tried drinking warm chamomile tea and turmeric milk to ease the throat and body aches, which gave temporary comfort. But rest is the only real cure here, so please take it easy.

I just recovered from mono last month and my fever literally lasted for 10 days straight. It was so frustrating because it wouldn't go down. Just sleep as much as you can and keep drinking fluids, it will eventually pass.
