How long does fever last for flu?

My entire family has been down with the flu this week, and the fever has been really high for everyone. How many days does the fever usually last when it's the actual flu? Just trying to gauge when we might start feeling better.

Over the years I have seen that flu fevers usually trouble you for about 3 to 5 days. It starts high and then gradually goes down. Just keep sipping warm water and give your body some proper time to heal, do not rush back to work.

Honestly, my fever lasted 4 days and I could barely sleep because of the blocked nose. Just when you think it is going down, it hits you again at 2 AM. Keep your steam inhaler close to your bed, otherwise sleep is impossible.

Generally, flu fever runs for 3 to 5 days, though the body weakness can stay for a week or more. Make sure you are taking your fluids and checking your temperature twice a day. If it crosses 5 days or if you feel any breathlessness, please visit a clinic immediately.

Beta, flu takes its own sweet time of 4-5 days to leave the body. Along with whatever tablet your doctor gave, try drinking warm tulsi and ginger water twice a day. It relieves the throat congestion and gives some peace.

From what I have observed with my family and friends, the actual high fever stays for 3 days. By the 4th and 5th day, it becomes a mild warm feeling. Just take complete bed rest and don't skip meals even if everything tastes bitter.
