How long does eczema last?

My son has had this patchy, itchy skin for a while now, and the doctor thinks it's eczema. We've tried creams, but it keeps coming back. I want to know how long eczema typically lasts in children, or if it's something that just stays.

I completely understand how stressful and frustrating it is when the itching just won't stop, it used to keep me awake and anxious for weeks. A typical flare-up can last anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks. Finding the right moisturizer and calming down really helped me.

My eczema flares usually stay for about 15 days before dry skin starts peeling off. Since I also manage diabetes, I have to be extremely careful not to scratch the itchy spots to avoid skin infections. Keeping a clean diet and using doctor-approved ointments is key.

Eczema is a long-term condition, but the active, itchy patches usually calm down in 2 weeks if you treat them well. Over the years, I have realized that keeping the skin constantly hydrated and avoiding harsh chemical soaps is the best way to prevent long flares.

It can feel so exhausting when the red patches stay on your face or hands for weeks, making you feel so self-conscious. Usually, a bad patch takes around 2 to 4 weeks to fade with proper treatment. You are not alone in this, please don't let it get to you.

Haan, eczema is a chronic thing, so it doesn't go away permanently, but a single flare-up usually settles in 2 weeks. Just apply your doctor's cream on time na, and don't take hot water baths because that makes the skin super dry and itchy.
