How long does dengue last?

My colleague's son was diagnosed with dengue fever, and he's been quite unwell for a few days. We're all concerned about him. How long does dengue fever typically last, including the recovery period?

Dengue took away 10 days of my life and left me feeling like a total zombie. The actual high fever lasted for about 5 days, but the bone-crushing weakness went on for a whole month. Just keep drinking water and prepare to sleep a lot.

The acute phase of dengue lasts around 7 to 10 days, but managing it with diabetes requires extra care. I had to monitor my sugar levels closely as the infection and lack of proper meals caused fluctuations. Stick to fresh, unsweetened coconut water and light kanji.

Hey, don't worry, the worst of it will pass in about a week. Dengue fever typically lasts 5 to 7 days, and then your platelets will start rising again naturally. Just rest completely, stay hydrated with ORS, and let me know if you need anything.

Dengue generally runs its course in 7 to 10 days. The critical phase actually starts when the fever begins to drop, as that is when platelets can plummet. Keep a close watch on blood reports, and if you see any bleeding from gums or rashes, go to the hospital immediately.

My dengue symptoms escalated rapidly on day 5 when my platelet count dropped dangerously low, requiring immediate hospitalization. Please do not try to manage this entirely at home. If you feel extreme abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, or cold limbs, see a doctor immediately.

When I had dengue, my high fever lasted for exactly 6 days, and my joint pains were quite severe. By the 9th day, my blood tests showed my platelet levels were back to normal, though the fatigue lingered for another two weeks.
