How long does caffeine affect sleep?

Sometimes after dinner, I like to have a cup of coffee, but then I find it hard to fall asleep. I'm trying to figure out the right time to stop drinking caffeine. How long does caffeine typically affect your sleep cycle, like, how many hours does it stay in your system?

Ooh, caffeine! ☕ It really depends on the person, but generally, the effects can last for 4-6 hours. Some people are super sensitive and even a tiny bit in the afternoon can keep them up! Try cutting it out after lunchtime to see if that helps! ✨

Caffeine's half-life is typically around 5 hours, meaning half of it is still in your system after that time. However, its stimulating effects can linger longer, affecting sleep quality. Individual metabolism plays a big role. If you're consistently struggling with sleep, consulting a doctor or sleep specialist would be advisable.

Honestly, for me, it feels like it lasts till next morning! 😂 I once had coffee at 5 PM, and I was staring at my ceiling till 2 AM. Now I have a strict 2 PM cut-off. Otherwise, my brain decides it's party time when it should be sleep time.

I'm new to drinking coffee, and sometimes I feel a bit restless at night. Does green tea also have a similar effect on sleep, even though it has less caffeine?

Everyone keeps saying different things about caffeine's effects. What works for one person won't work for another. If you are having serious sleep issues, please consult a doctor. Don't just rely on general advice from the internet. They can give you tailored advice.

Bro, for me, if I have coffee after 3 PM, my sleep is gone. Simple. I can feel my heart racing a bit and my mind just doesn't shut down. So yeah, I try to avoid it late. Everyone's different though, some of my friends can drink it right before bed!
