How long does broken rib pain last?

I had a fall a couple of weeks ago and got a broken rib. The pain is still quite intense, especially when I move or cough. My doctor said it takes time to heal, but I want to know generally how long does broken rib pain last for most people?

Please, please get it checked by a doctor properly! I once ignored a persistent pain thinking it was just a muscle pull, and it turned out to be something more serious. Rib pain can be tricky. Don't self-diagnose, just go to the hospital. A proper diagnosis is crucial for recovery time.

Ho na, broken rib pain can be quite bad. It generally takes about 6 weeks for a rib to heal completely, so the pain will slowly reduce during that time. But sometimes, a little discomfort can linger for longer. It's best to follow your doctor's advice and take rest.

Oh, broken ribs are really painful, I remember when my son broke one playing cricket. The initial sharp pain lasted a few weeks, but the dull ache and discomfort, especially while coughing or moving, was there for about 6-8 weeks. It really needs rest and patience. Follow all the doctor's instructions strictly, darling.

Look, for something like a broken rib, you absolutely cannot rely on internet advice or home remedies. Go to a qualified doctor, get an X-ray, and follow their treatment plan. The duration of pain depends on the severity of the fracture and individual healing, only a doctor can tell you that for sure.

I can only imagine how much you must be hurting! Rib pain is no joke. Generally, the sharp pain starts to ease after 2-3 weeks, but a persistent dull ache can be there for 6-8 weeks, sometimes even a bit longer. Cold compresses might offer some temporary relief, but proper medical guidance is key for healing.
