How long does braces pain last?

I just got my braces put on a few days ago, and my teeth are really hurting. My friends told me it's normal, but this pain is a lot. How long does the pain from new braces usually last before it starts getting better?

Oh, braces pain is a whole different ballgame! It's usually worst for the first 3-5 days after getting them on or after an adjustment. Then it gradually subsides. Just like with thyroid issues, where you need regular tests and doctor follow-ups, with braces, consistent care and knowing what to expect from your orthodontist helps a lot. Soft foods are your best friend then!

Bro, I just got my braces off last year! The initial pain after getting them fixed was real, man, like 3-4 days of soreness where eating was a mission. And after every tightening, it was like 1-2 days of dull ache. But totally worth it for straight teeth, trust me!

Yaar, braces pain is actually the worst for the first few days, like 3-5 days, after you get them on. You can barely eat anything. And then after every adjustment, it's like 1-2 days of soreness. But it's totally manageable with some soft food and pain relief, don't worry!

Oh, braces pain is no joke! When I first got mine, it was really uncomfortable for about 4-5 days, I could only eat soup and mashed potatoes. After adjustments, it's usually just a couple of days of tenderness. It's totally normal, just stick to soft foods and take an over-the-counter painkiller if needed. You'll get used to it!

Braces pain is normal, but usually it should settle down within a week of getting them or an adjustment. If the pain is severe and not improving, or if something feels really wrong, like a wire poking excessively, you should definitely call your orthodontist. My cousin ignored a poking wire and got a bad sore, so be cautious.
