I have some chronic back pain and my doctor suggested a steroid shot. I wanted to understand the relief period. How long does a steroid shot typically last for pain relief?

Haha, for me it lasts exactly till the next big family gathering where I have to lift something heavy. Honestly, it can be a few weeks to a few months. Sometimes it feels like a magic bullet, sometimes it wears off sooner than you'd like. It's a temporary fix, not a cure-all.

Yaar, actually it totally depends on the person and the pain. For my knee pain, it worked for almost 2 months, but my friend said for her back, it only helped for a few weeks. It's not permanent relief, just to give you a break from the pain and help with therapy.
