How long does a mental health evaluation take?

I'm considering getting a mental health evaluation, but I have a very packed schedule. Can someone tell me how much time I should set aside for one of these evaluations?

From my experience, the initial mental health evaluation can take anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes. It's crucial to be completely honest and share everything you're feeling. Don't rush it; the more accurate info they have, the better they can help you.

An evaluation will likely take a good hour or so. It's important to be well-nourished before such a detailed discussion. A light, wholesome vegetarian meal can help you stay focused and calm during the session. Don't go on an empty stomach.

The evaluation itself can be about 60-90 minutes. It's an important step, just like planning your workout. And remember, staying active, even just a brisk walk, can also help your mental well-being alongside professional help, if the doc allows.

For a mental health evaluation, the initial session typically lasts about 60 to 90 minutes. This allows the clinician to conduct a thorough intake. Subsequent sessions, if required for ongoing therapy, might be shorter, usually 45-50 minutes.
